Dingzhou Gem-Brand Cutting Tools Factory was established on 1st May 1994. At the initial stage, the production completely depended on handwork, and at that time the annual output was about three hundred thousands pieces. Until 1998, after the constantly struggle, our products became more competitive in the machete line on both domestic and foreign market, and the annual output raised up to one million pieces. And at the same time the JEWEL Brand as our trademark was registered. In 1999, the principal shareholders had some changes. After that the new leaders of the company visited our customers to look for some new chances of the market and learn more details of customers’ demand. After attending the China Import and Export Fair（Canton Fair ）, we made every effort to improve the quality. And annual output increased up to about two million pieces.

      After one year effort in 2000, the Gem Brand sugarcane machete became more popular in the African market. In 2001 and 2002, the annual output of the company increased to more than three millions. Up to September 2002, the company is changed from joint venture to sole investment enterprise, so the system is more perfect and the economic benefit is much better. In 2003 the company became ISO9000 registered firm. In the same year the company leaders went to Africa for a business trip to learn the demands of machete in Africa market. And our company had a friendly conversation with The Sun Trade Co. in Tanzania. Then the leaders of The Sun Trade Co. came to China to visit our factory in August, and had a negotiation about the cooperating with us after investigating our production capacity and our perfect rules and regulations.

      Our company devotes to developing new products. The total output value is near twenty million RMB in 2003. In 2004, Dingzhou Gem-Brand Cutting Tools Factory cooperated with The Sun Trade Co., Ltd in Tanzania, setting up a new company—Dingzhou Gem-Brand Metal Products Co., Ltd. Registered fund is five millions RMB. The new company can export goods itself. Step by step, the transformation of our company from production enterprise to modern company which containing production and trade is finished.
